Wisconsin volleyball team private photos leaked online, ‘multiple crimes’ being investigated

The University of Wisconsin said in a statement that the UW-Madison Police Department is investigating “multiple crimes” after private photos and video of members of the women’s volleyball team were shared on the internet.

“We are aware that private photos and video of UW volleyball student-athletes that were never intended to be shared publicly are being circulated digitally,” UW athletics said in a statement Wednesday.

“The unauthorized sharing is a significant and wrongful invasion of the student-athletes’ privacy, including potential violations of university slices and criminal statutes.”

The Badgers' athletic department released a statement Wednesday afternoon stating the student-athletes reached out to the UW-Madison Police Department when they realized pics they'd taken were going around social media.

It is hard to figure why anyone would totally invade someone's personal sanctity like that by Jealousy? Revenge? Profit?

The responsible party(ies) need to be held accountable and prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Really garbage if it was by a partner of one of the graduating seniors. Would put a damper on the entire title/team.

Was never aware of this website, but it is just as scummy as isanyoneup which generated uploads via user based and also majority by email hack, and not to the point of nudity - but thedirty was just as sh*tty a website also.

When you read some of the stories coming out about what happened it seems the "leak" came from either an alumni or an alumni'sacquaintances phone.

Interested to see if it was in fact an icloud hack or if the acquaintance shared the icloud folder either on purpose or accident leading to them getting out.

The onlyfocal point here should be the horrifying invasion of privacy for these young women. Take your "well, what were they wearing?" attitude elsewhere.
